Cancellation of JYJ Yoochun's show appearances explained

When it was disclosed that multiple TV appearances of JYJ’s Yoochun had been canceled, waves of controversy spread throughout the entertainment industry. Some observers suspect that Yoochun is a victim of outside pressure on broadcasting companies, causing show producers to come forth to explain the truth.

It was recently revealed that Yoochun and his fellow “Ripley” cast members were unable to appear on both MBC’s “Come to Play” and KBS 2TV’s “On A Roll.” This series of events caused a broadcasting official to carefully state his opinion on the matter, “Someone is interfering in an attempt to keep JYJ from broadcasting activities.”

Yoon Hyungjoon, the PD of “On A Roll,” has stepped forward, however, to refute these claims of outside pressure as reasons for Yoochun’s cancelled appearance. The PD dismissed the rumors on May 4th, “It’s ridiculous that people believe Park Yoochun was unable to appear as Kim Kapsoo’s surprise guest because of outside pressure. The rumors are absolutely groundless.”

He emphasized that “if there were any pressure, we wouldn’t have contacted him in the first place. PDs have the authority of choosing the guests. It’s extreme to say that we were pressured into canceling his appearance.”

A representative of “Come To Play” has also dismissed such rumors, “It is true that the ‘Ripley’ team wanted to appear on the show, but we decided to choose another episode plan.”

Meanwhile, others claim that the public’s sympathy towards JYJ causes its tendency to blame JYJ’s inability to appear on TV shows on outside pressure. Because of this, people are spreading rumors on these nonexistent issues, which only makes things worse.

What do you think happened?
