IU's first composition is a part of "Best Love" soundtrack

On May 23rd, Cho PD revealed through Twitter that IU will debut as a songwriter through the soundtrack for MBC's drama "Best Love" (alternate translation: "The Greatest Love").

He wrote, "IU's first original composition to be released soon!! Although Jieun (note: IU's real name) herself says she's ashamed, I want to take this opportunity to boast about her work. It's her first piece of work, but it's pretty good...My 'Best Love' goes to Jieun." Lee Minsoo, a composer who has previously worked on IU's albums, replied, "For a first attempt, she did really well". When a fan asked if he helped IU with the song, he replied that he merely listened to it "as a fan" but that "but the arrangement was done by Jieun together with a famous musician."

IU's composition will be released with part four of "Best Love"'s soundtrack on May 25th. Until then, a preview has become available on Youtube.
