"Kiss and Cry" Receives Critical Feedback

While highly anticipated for its star studded cast, it seems that Kim Yu Na's reality program "Kiss & Cry" is slipping in ratings as viewers begin to criticize the premises of the show.

Kim Yu Na's participation as a judge in the new ice skating reality program "Kiss and Cry" had initially generated a great deal of pre-show buzz before its premiere this past Sunday, however, it seems that ratings for the show may already be slipping in comparison to television's many other reality programs.

Expectations for the program were initially high, as celebrities such as soloists Son Dam Bi and IU, comedian Kim Byung Man, TVXQ's Yunho, and f(x)'s Krystal were named as members of the cast. However, it stands that many of the celerities had never stepped for on ice before, and it seems that the two months they had to practice before the show's debut seemed too short to properly prepare them.

The first performance of the night came from actress Lee Ah Hyun. And while she garnered much support from the audience, she failed to elicit positive feedback from the judges. Lee commented, "Personally, I found it very hard. For the past two months, nothing has stressed me out more than preparing for this performance. I just wanted to show my daughter I had the strength to do something different."

Hallyu stars f(x) Krystal and TVXQ's Yunho managed to bring in good scores, along with national speed skater Lee Kyu Hyuk. However, the rest of the cast, including IU, Son Dam Bi, and actor Seo Jisuk failed to live up to even minimum expectations. While IU did impress with her vocal skills, and Seo managed to elicit a few laughs with his humorous performance to "Sexy Night", skating-wise, the idols had little technique to show.

While some claim that the highlight of "Kiss & Cry" will be observing the celebrity contestants' improvement over time, others argue that it will be difficult for them to display skill in such a short period of time.

Netizens criticized the show, with comment such as, "This is just a slew of performances," and "The show should have more things going for it, aside from Kim Yu Na."
