22-year-old shocks crowd in "Korea's Got Talent"

Korea's Got Talent had a special guest for its first episode. Choi Bungsung is a 22-year-old who was left at an orphanage when he was a child. After being beaten by other kids at the orphanage, he ran away at the age of 5. He survived by selling gum and drinks on the streets. Ten years later, he was able to take tests to get his elementary and middle school degrees. The first school he went to was high school.

Although he said he wasn't that much of a singer, stating he just liked to sing because it was the first thing he liked after living on the streets for so many years, Choi Bungsung managed to get the crowd and jury's attention with his strong voice.

Korea's Got Talent is the Korean version of the talent show that started out as a British TV format. It's first episode premiered on July 4th. Actress Song Yoona, Music Director Kolleen Park, and Movie Director Jang Jin were moved by the performance and easily left comments as "I just want to hug you...", "You have an instrument in you. I'd like to have you educated," and "As you hear from audiences, you did great job."
