Kim Nam Gook was planning to quit his job at YG Entertainment due to personal reasons and had already discussed his plans with the company. G-Dragon, who was dearly referred to as Jiyong, GD's real name, in the story, heard the news after returning from Big Bang's Japanese promotions. G-Dragon called his manager up and cried, "You can’t do this to me. You can’t ever quit," and then hung up the phone without letting him speak a word.
Kim Nam Gook then admitted, "I was startled at first, but it got to me that this is his way of showing his affection. Hence, I ‘could never quit’ and am still working."
Kim Nam Gook goes on to explain that the apparent coldness people see in G-Dragon is related to how G-Dragon is constantly under the pressure of leading the team. Because he is at the center of the process, G-Dragon bears much responsibility upon his shoulders and acts as such in the workplace, "working strong and thinking sharp."
However, when he is off duty, G-Dragon reverts to his normal, bubbly self -- "he smiles a lot, plays a lot, likes to eat yummy food and has a huge interest in fashion, just like his peers in 20s."
