Korean groups going strong in Oricon Daily and Weekly charts

Last week we took notice of 3 Korean groups being in the top 10of the Oricon Daily charts in Japan. Now a week after the release of those three singles, Beast and Supernova have made it to the 3rd and 2nd place, respectively, of the Oricon weekly. Boy groupThe Boss just fell out of the top 10 and ended on the 11th spot with their second single "Love Bingo!".

Supernova's "Kuriunnare – Kimi ni Aitakute!" snatched the 2nd spot by selling an amazing 53657 copies, the most any of their singles have sold in Japan since their debut date. Beast's second single "Bad Girl" was revealed to have been sold 42386 times. Japanese group Kinki Kids came out on top with 150661 singles sold, revealing they're still one of Japan's top groups.

Even though last week's charts featured 3 Korean groups on the list, this week's has their own with the release of SHINee's Japanese debut single "Replay -君は僕のeverything-". The single sold 50270 copies on its first day, which is an amazing feat for a Kpop group's Japanese debut. With that many copies sold, SHINee ended on the second spot for today's Oricon charts just behind popular AKB48 member Atsuko Maeda who sold 102483 copies of ther debut solo single "Flower". SHINee managed to outsell popular Japanese groups AAA and T.M.Revolution, who both released their new singles on the same day.

With these great feats, we can say that the popularity of Korean pop groups in Japan, is still going strong.
