DJ Masa, a Brazilian DJ who has become well known in the K-pop society for his remixes of K-pop songs, has been busy touring the world and performing at local hot spots; amongst his recent destinations are Singapore, Peru, and even Sao Paolo, Brazil, the largest city in Brazil, with the goal of performing throughout Europe and eventually in South Korea later on in the year. He has even been recognized by Korean fans and has even had his video shared by DongHo of U-Kiss. He has been featured on various media outlets, including being featured in a documentary for KBS. In addition, in his free time, DJ Masa has held online stream sessions for K-pop fans, which he endearingly calls “K-arnival”.Every year, DJ Masa composes mashups of that year’s biggest K-pop hits, including his “HOT K-POP 2010” mashups from last year. Earlier this year, DJ Masa remixed Secret’s “Shy Boy” and TVXQ’s “Why (Keep Your Head Down),” which he titled “Why, Shy Boy?”. Unfortunately, shortly after the release, his YouTube channel was disabled due to copyright complaints from label companies. Despite this, DJ Masa persevered and released “K-pop in a G6,” which ended up being broadcast on Brazilian television. His YouTube account was finally restored a month later and he released a video thanking fans for their support.
Staying faithful to fans’ expectations, DJ Masa has just released a special mashup titled “K-POP Till the World Ends.” Like his other works, the mashup is an alluring remix that contains many of the popular songs that have been released throughout the first half of this year. DJ Masa has also added subtitles in 12 different languages, stating that he really wanted viewers to “pay attention to the song meaning.” Once again, he has managed to make the songs transition smoothly into each other, forming one elaborate song that slowly climaxes and transitions over to end with a little bit of spunk, leaving the viewer wanting more.
