Release dates for 2NE1's upcoming single, mini-album, and details on solo concert revealed

A notice was just posted on YG-Life regarding 2NE1’s much anticipated upcoming single, “I'm The Best.”

The notice starts off by apologizing for the delay of 2NE1’s new song; it was formerly announced that the song would be delayeddue to Daesung’s unfortunate accident. It then continues by announcing that the new song will be titled “I'm The Best.” They further revealed that the song is a powerful song that combines the electronic and hip hop genres with a fast beat and that it was produced by YG’s main producer, Teddy. They expect that the song will generate a positive response from fans who enjoyed 2NE1’s debut song, “Fire.”

The notice also divulged that 2NE1 would be making a comeback soon and would actually participate in music show promotions for the song, which they have not done in the past. Before this, 2NE1 had been participating in YG’s own show, “YG ON AIR,” and had just aired their last live session of “Lonely." In addition, the music video for “I'm The Best,” which was directed by Seo Hyunseung, will be released on June 24th, along with the song, at 12AM KST.

The current date planned for 2NE1’s mini-album release is July 21st. The mini-album will include “Don’t Cry,” “Lonely,” and “I'm The Best." YG Entertainment is also planning to add two or three more new songs to the album. The notice discussed that they would be announcing the full details for the mini-album at a later date.

Continuing with new information, it has also been announced that 2NE1 will be having their first ever solo concert on August 27th and 28th at the “Olympic Hall” in the Jamsil Olympic Park. The special concert hall is expected to hold approximately 4,000 audience members. Instead of being overzealous and trying to sell out many seats, YG is planning on making this a “fulfilling and fun concert where they can get a bit closer with the fans.” Tickets are expected to go on sale on July 7th and full details and an official announcement will be released next week on YG and 2NE1’s homepage.

2NE1’s official activities and mini-album activities are expected to continue until the end of August. After their first concert, they will fly to Japan for their Japanese debut which is expected to last for approximately 2 months.
