Big Bang, f(x), and IU high on Soribada charts

We recently reported on Tower Records Japan revealing the top-ranking K-pop albums and singles in Japan for the first half of the year (ending June 30th). More rankings have just been made available, courtesy of Soribada.

After tallying statistics like the number of downloads for popular K-pop songs, Korean music website Soribada announced Big Bang as the first half of 2011's best group.

Big Bang's "Tonight" and "Love Song" achieved high ranks on the charts during March and April. Three more songs from Big Bang's "Tonight" EP that achieved popularity on the charts were "What is Right", "Stupid Liar", and "Somebody to Love".

According to Soribada, f(x)'s "Danger" is the best song for the first half of 2011, achieving #1 on the charts immediately after its release and maintaining its status in the top 10 for five weeks after that.

K-pop idol groups weren't the only ones to receive recognition from Soribada; female vocalist IU's "Good Day" achieved second on the same chart. IU's "Good Day" and "The Story Only I Didn't Know" ranked first on weekly charts, while her "Someday" and "Take My Hand" from KBS's "Dream High" OST and MBC's "The Greatest Love" OST also saw high rankings.

Kim Bumsoo's song "Please", 4th on the Soribada chart, saw him as the best solo male vocalist. Also occuping the top 10 were his songs "Neverending Story" and "With My Love".
