On the July 9th episode of "Saturday Night Live JPN," nine male cast members dressed up in simplified versions of SNSD's characteristic yellow and black "Mr. Taxi" outfits and danced to a segment of the song. The men imitated SNSD's dancing, complete with taxi driver hats and a flashing background characteristic of many television music shows. At the end of the performance, the letters "女装時代" - "josou jidai" (female clothing era), appear on the screen. The parody on "shoujo" (young woman) becoming "josou" (female clothing) was achieved by switching the s and the j and reflects one of the highlights of the men's performance: their female clothing.
The end of the clip shows three ladies working in the "viewer complaint center" and apologizing profusely to callers for the female clothing being "gross."
"Saturday Night Live JPN" is a new series that began airing on June 4th and is hosted by Japanese comedians Imada Koji and Akashiya Sanma. Each episode broadcast is a completely live feed, which allows the avoidance of strict editing that happens with many Japanese television shows.
