There has already been a lot of talk about the recently announced SMTOWN New York. Because of this, fans in Vancouver held a SMTOWN flashmob on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 2PM. The flashmob attracted a lot of attention since it is unclear if SM Entertainment will announce other stops in North America soon.
This event was hosted by Jazmin Latter, who started a new movement in order to get SMTOWN to come to Vancouver. Many famous fans on YouTube who cover K-Pop dances such as The Dancing Twins (Cloudstrife718) and also Holly Ho promoted the SMTOWN Live in Vancouver flashmob.
After meeting weekly for two months to practice, the participants in the Vancouver flashmob danced to a medley of BoA ("Hurricane Venus" + "Eat You Up"), f(x) ("Nu ABO" + "Hot Summer" + "Pinocchio (Danger)"), SNSD ("Run Devil Run" + "Gee" + "Oh" + "Genie"), SHINee ("Replay" + "Juliette" + "Lucifer" + "Ring Ding Dong"), Super Junior ("BONAMANA" + "Sorry Sorry"), and TVXQ ("Mirotic").
