Recently confirmed to play the lead role for upcoming drama "Love Rain", Jang Geunsuk and the rest of the production team sets their eye for a possible female lead. Tentatively titled "Love Rain," a member of the production confirms that Korean actress Han Hyojoo is the strongest candidate for the role.
According to the representative, the director Yoon Seokho personally wanted an actress of natural beauty in her mid-twenties. They also stated that Han Hyojoo is the perfect candidate for the role as she is the same age with Jang Geunsuk and has previously worked with the director for a drama before.
The representative also talked about Han Hyojoo's popularity overseas, which will help promotions of the drama. He was quoted saying, "The fact that many of Han Hyojoo's dramas have succeeded greatly in Japan also added to her being cast for this one. 'Dong Yi' and 'Spring Waltz' have both been rerun as well, for its popularity."
However, according to Han Hyojoo's agency on August 29th, her appearance in the drama "Love Rain" has not been confirmed. Han Hyojoo has had many offers to participate in movies and dramas, but everything is still in the talk processes.
"Love Rain" will be the upcoming project from famous diredctor Yoon Seokho who is known for his dramas such as "Autumn In My Heart," "Winter Sonata", "Summer Scent and "Spring Waltz."
As of the moment, the drama is wrapping up casting calls as filming starts in October. "Love Rain" is set to be aired by 2012.
