YG Entertainment’s Sean and G-Dragon recently paid a visit to former basketball coach Park Seung Il to lend their love and support.
Park Seung Il, who’s been fighting against Lou Gehrig’s disease, has been receiving visits from Sean ever since the star read his book, “Writing Hope With Eyes”. Back in November of 2009, Sean also started up various fundraising events to support nursing homes specialized for Lou Gehrig’s disease patients.
On August 22nd, Sean wrote on his Twitter, “Jiyong was my present. Jiyong went to visit Park Seung Il the day after his birthday. “
He continued, “Seung Il said it was such a great present. Seung Il had his birthday not long ago, and Jiyong said that he’ll come visit with a really great present next time.”
On the same afternoon, Park Seung Il wrote on his internet cafe, “Sean brought along Jiyong not long ago. Jiyong held my hand the whole entire time.”
“Other stars, particularly men — or just men in general — don’t usually hold hands with other men because it can get awkward. But Jiyong was different. That friend’s hand was warm and you can tell that his heart is just as warm if you read his text message.”
“My text to Jiyong, ‘Jiyong-ah, because of you, I really want fundraising organizations for nursing homes to spread.’ Jiyong’s reply: ‘Right? I’m trying my best and there are so many good people in the world, but there are more people who don’t know how to solve it. I’ll come see you again after I’ve spread it around lots. ^^ Fighting!”
“I didn’t even ask Jiyong to do it, but whenever we took a picture, he’d hold up my book as if he were trying to promote it. Jiyong said he’d leave a comment on my cafe after reading my book.”
“Lastly, what really touched me was when he said he’d make a song and submit it with my name as the lyricist. I’m deeply thankful.”
Meanwhile, fans of G-dragon donated $18,000 USD to the Seoul University Children’s hospital for his 23rd birthday, to which G-dragon himself donated a further $46,000 USD.
