After School to debut in Japan in August

Nine-member girl group After School has announced that they will be making their official debut in Japan in August. The announcement has had Japanese media excited. Avex Entertainment will be partnering up with After School to release the Japanese version of their hit single "Bang!" originally released last year in Korea.

The single "Bang!" is set for release on August 17th with their first performance set at the Akasaka BLITZ on July 17th. "Bang!" is a unique song that presents a strong choreography and was much loved in Korea at the time of its release. It is expected that the song will be popular in Japan due to the powerful performance that After School presents with the song.

Japanese media like Sankei Sports, Oricon News, and Sports Hochi are paying attention to the group's upcoming debut closely. On June 3rd, Sankei Sports said, "The average height of the members are 167cm and look like sexy models with excellent style. They are have the sophisticated aura of a dance team. They have the 3Ss, 'sexy,' 'style,' and 'show.'"

Sports Hochi says, "They are following after SNSD and KARA, who have been a big hit this summer in the music scene."

After School attended the fashion event in Tokyo Yoyogi Gym in March, "Tokyo Girl Collection," which featured many guest star singers. In addition, After School was featured earlier in the year in top Japanese female soloist Namie Amuro's album and music video, "Make It Happen," introducing After School to Japanese fans.
